FABRIC APPLICATION EXAMPLE
Silk
Cuts well and seals edges with very occasionally some light marking

Used in production of heart shapes, scarves and collar pieces. This example shows petals produced by Tamatec on a silk dress which was exhibited by the designer in a fashion show and was a great success.

Satin
Cuts well and seals well

Complex shapes can be cut with fine detail and edges of the fabric sealed.
Stretch Satin
Cuts well and seals edges

Used for fan shaped collars and underwear parts
Chiffon

This delicate fabric was used as part of an evening dress for an exhibition

Cotton
Cuts well and seals edges

Used as a base for a handkerchief with a synthetic red fabric forming the cross
Organza
 Tamatec has designed and manufactured a flower pattern used for a Wedding Dress.

Another delicate fabric that cuts well with the laser.

 
Suede
Cuts and engraves well. Can support cutting with minimal marking

Can be cut and engraved on the laser. Applications include belts, labels, fashion panels and shapes.
Leather
Cuts well and can be engraved with logos, text and images. Engraved leather can give off a smell and will need cleaning/ wiping

Intricate patterns can be cut from the material up to 3mm thick. Leather can also be engraved. Features can be used on belts, shoes and clothing.
Polyester
Cuts beautifully on the laser

Fine detail possible used in scarves

Velvet
Engraves well as it is able to pick up contrast between different levels of engraving power

Certain velvets do not cut well on the laser

  
Neoprene
Cuts well but may need some wiping after the process

Can be cut or engraved. Used for marine applications, templates and tablemats. Other rubber materials such as Latex and Nitrile can also be cut.
Soft Furnishings

A wide variety of furnishing fabrics can be cut. Applications include sample books as well as in soft furnishings.
